After many months without activity, the Seed webpage is finally back!  The second Seed group in Colombia began in June of 2011 when 10 participants and two facilitators united to commence activities.  The Seed participants of the 2011-2013 program come from five different countries within the Americas (Colombia, Peru, Mexico, USA, and Canada), each participant arriving with different gifts and experiences to share in their work.

The first three months of the program were spent in Bogota, where the group studied and reflected on the Colombian context, current and past, looking at history, language, culture, economy, politics and more.  These three months were an enriching preparation for the participants before they arrived in communities where they will be accompanying and working.

In the first week of September all the Seed participants arrived to the communities where they will be working during these two years of the program.  There are five regions and eight communities in Colombia where Seed is working (look to menu on left side) in different topics related to the four foci of MCC Colombia – Peace building, Community Development, Role of the Church in Society and Political Advocacy.

The Seed webpage is intended to function as a place to share experiences of this work as well as the realities of Colombian life, generating a process of transformative education with its readers.  Bi-monthly articles written by Seeders will be published on the website and also in a Seed bulletin that will share stories and information on topics that affect the communities where Seed is working.  Furthermore, the webpage will frequently have new information posted, such as updates on what Seed is doing, photos for the photo gallery, important news related to Colombia and ways that outside people can get involved in the work being done in Colombia.
